Project brief
Derby City Council appointed CCS Garage Equipment to deliver commercial vehicle workshop consultancy and installation expertise as it commenced a project to consolidate its vehicle servicing and maintenance facilities.
Relocating the local authority’s vehicle maintenance workshop to a new-build facility, this investment by the City Council creates capacity for future growth in its vehicle fleet in a larger workshop with more versatile equipment accommodating the diverse range of equipment operated by the authority which serves a 267,000-strong regional population.
Professional garage equipment relocation & installation by CCS
By relocating its local authority servicing and maintenance facilities to this larger site, Derby City Council has opportunity to expand its fleet while offering a comfortable and safe working environment for engineers and technicians through professional garage equipment design and installation.
Following initial consultation with our client and its appointed contractors, CCS’ garage equipment installation team identified equipment to be relocated from existing vehicle workshops, and created a specification for the installation of new garage equipment suitable for the servicing, testing, maintenance and repair of local authority commercial, specialist and electric vehicles.
Relocated garage equipment for Derby City Council included fixed 2-post vehicle lifts, fixed 4-post heavy-duty lifts for larger trucks and vehicles, air compressor and lubrication equipment. New garage equipment installed by CCS featured a bespoke pre-fabricated steel vehicle inspection pit and safety barriers, headlamp tester, new air ring and air reels and LEV fume extraction.
Supplied by leading manufacturers, reliable garage equipment was installed and tested by CCS prior to commission, supervised throughout by our dedicated project manager, and training delivered for the client’s workshop team in the safe operation of its new facilities. Following handover, ongoing routine maintenance and servicing by CCS Garage Equipment’s experienced engineers continues to keep this local authority workshop compliant and fully operational.
