A leading further education provider in the region, City of Liverpool College delivers academic and vocational courses from GCSE to degree level for students aged 16+, equipping students for the world of work with state-of-the-art facilities and quality learning experiences.
City of Liverpool College invests continually in facilities that help it to achieve some of the best outcomes in the region, including a restaurant and deli, bakery, and hair and beauty salons. Technical and enterprise courses are run from the College’s Vauxhall Road campus, purpose-built to incorporate industry-standard workshops. The automotive workshop is used to deliver Level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications including Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Hybrid Electric Vehicle Operation and Maintenance, and Engineering diplomas.
Industry-standard vehicle maintenance workshop by CCS for City of Liverpool College
CCS’ local garage equipment installation team in the North West was appointed to install a suite of vehicle lifts and workshop equipment for the City of Liverpool College’s automotive workshop as part of a comprehensive facility upgrade.
Split into three dedicated sections for Level 1, 2 and 3 courses, the workshop offers excellent capacity and gives students valuable, hands-on experience using industry-leading equipment. CCS supplied and installed 8 fixed 2-post vehicle lifts by Nussbaum, together with Cormach tyre changing and wheel balancing equipment, joining existing workshop equipment including a state-of-the-art hybrid and electric vehicle training unit and dedicated wheel alignment bay.
Our CCS design team worked closely with the City of Liverpool College Workshop Manager to plan this comprehensive garage equipment installation, making the most of the space available and recommending cost-effective systems that achieved great value for our client, whilst creating an immersive and real-world facility for excellent student experiences in automotive repairs and workshop operations.
The installation at the College’s Vauxhall Road campus was scheduled outside of term time and supervised throughout by CCS’ dedicated project manager. Full training on the workshop’s new equipment was delivered by our installation engineers prior to commission and hand over, and CCS continues to visit the campus for routine servicing and inspections that ensure safety and compliance year after year.
