Garage equipment installation at Co-op Biggleswade completed & handed over

A key project for CCS Garage Equipment in 2021, our team has now completed the sizeable garage equipment installation for Co-op's Biggleswade distribution centre. This new build, 660,000 sq ft centre is billed as the most sustainable and high-tech depot in Co-op's portfolio, running on 100% renewable energy and creating many new jobs in management, warehouse operatives and drivers.

The new workshop and distribution centre will support Co-op's South East operations, providing servicing and maintenance facilities for an extensive fleet of commercial trucks, vans and HGVs. Fully-equipped with high-specification garage equipment, the workshop has now been fully tested and handed over to the client team ready for operations to commence in the new year.

Our garage equipment design for the Co-op workshop needed to be versatile, accommodating the brand's fleet with up-to-date, safe and user-friendly garage equipment from our recommended leading suppliers. Located in a new building, we worked with the client's architects and builders to design a bespoke workshop from the ground up, perfectly suited to the brand's operational needs.

The Co-op's garage equipment installation for Co-op Biggleswade included:

• Large 5-bay workshop
• 3 prefabricated steel service pits, built to bespoke specification
• 1 fully-equipped ATF lane for in-house vehicle testing and inspections, including brake tester and headlamp alignment equipment
• Compressed air and lubrication systems
• LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) system
• Oil and waste fuel tanks
