Our CCS commercial workshop installation team is nearing completion of its work on site at TIP Trailers' new Shepshed workshop in Leicestershire, creating an 8-bay workshop to support the UK operations of this international commercial truck and trailer dealer, servicing, repair, compliance and asset tracking specialist.
Part of TIP Trailers' development of former Ryder sites UK-wide, customers of the Shepshed depot will benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities offered by this fully-equipped, new-build workshop which makes a significant addition to TIP's regional operations.
Serving TIP's HGV vehicle fleet which includes trailers, trucks and tanker units, CCS' garage equipment installation programme for this new commercial workshop included:
- 8 commercial vehicle servicing and maintenance bays
- 3x prefabricated steel inspection pits
- 1x ATF test pit: a 13m steel prefabricated pit that meets DVSA testing standards for commercial vehicles
- Lighting installation
- Electrical distribution boards
- External floodlighting
- LEV fume extraction system
- Lubrication distribution and storage systems

The exterior structure of TIP Trailers' new Shepshed workshop is completed, allowing access to 8 vehicle servicing bays and with plenty of room for external manoeuvring of vehicles. Operations both internally and externally are made safer through the installation of external floodlighting to the site.

A fully-equipped ATF test pit and lane, allowing for complete testing and inspection of vehicles to DVSA standards. This excellent addition to the TIP Trailers' Shepshed workshop in Leicestershire comprises equipment including an industry-leading commercial brake tester, a prefabricated steel inspection pit accessed via separate stairs and a side-entry tunnel, pit jack and headlamp tester.
Throughout the workshop, CCS' workshop installation team installed a hardwearing and reliable LEV fum extraction system, including pipework, hoses and reels.
Installation of the fully-equipped ATF test lane is completed, having undergone thorough testing prior to commission by our team. Including an ATF lane in this workshop's specification allows the client team to deliver complete commercial vehicle management, servicing and maintenance from one site, maximising returns from its investment at Shepshed. The test lane is accessed via a side-entry staircase and tunnel for optimal technician safety.
