🔧 Project Update: Workshop installation completed for Lookers' Volvo dealership in Bishops Stortford

Having acquired the Volvo dealership in Bishop's Stortford at the end of 2023, Lookers has invested £2m in a full site upgrade this year, opening the refurbished dealership and servicing workshop fully in October 2024.

The upgrade brings the Bishop's Stortford site in East Hertfordshire up-to-date with Volvo's corporate brand specification, featuring a Scandinavian-inspired client lounge area in the dealership equipped with comfortable seating and refreshment areas for customers to relax while browsing or waiting for servicing, as well as private office spaces, a large workshop viewing window, electric vehicle charging points and, of course, a fully-refurbished servicing and maintenance workshop.

This latest garage equipment installation in the South East, managed by installation engineer John, has now been completed and handed over. Our team captured images during testing and final commission.

1.  Nussbaum's Jumbo Lift is a tough hydraulic scissor lift with lifting capacities of up to 4T, making this vehicle lift an excellent wheel-free option to suit Volvo's extensive vehicle range.

2.  Testing of the Nussbaum Jumbo Lifts. CCS Garage Equipment's installation engineers installed 3 models side-by-side in Volvo Bishop's Stortford's workshop, each recessed into the ground for flat vehicle entry and exit from the lifting platforms.

3. CCS installed 2 Nussbaum Smart Lifts in this East Hertfordshire Volvo workshop. With excellent 4T lifting capacities, the Nussbaum Smart Lift's lifting arms can be adapted to accommodate electric vehicles and PHEVs, allowing for ease of access to the battery pack and other components.

4.  Cormach tyre changing and wheel balancing equipment supplied and installed by CCS Garage Equipment as part of our specification for this Volvo dealership's servicing and maintenance workshop.

5. A Volvo SUV vehicle is lifted during testing of the suite of Nussbaum Jumbo Lift hydraulic scissor lifts. These space-saving lifts are ideal for smaller workshops, operated easily by technicians and sitting flat to the floor when not in use.

6. Our expert garage equipment engineers fully-test all vehicle lifts following installation, ensuring lifts operate safely and vehicles are lifted correctly. The Jumbo Lift shown here affords excellent access to the underside of the vehicle during servicing and maintenance, and wheel-free lifting allows for all-round servicing of the vehicle.

7. The refurbished dealership's workshop is part of a full upgrade of this East Hertfordshire site, which includes a full-size viewing window and comfortable lounge facilities for customers browsing or waiting for vehicles.

8. The workshop's suite of fixed, 2-post lifts, including 2 Nussbaum Smart Lifts, is tested using the dealership's vehicles. 2-post lifts offer good lifting capacities - up to 4T on these models - and a neat design which maximises the workshop's floor space.

10. 11. Nussbaum's Jumbo Lift scissor lifts are recessed into the floor, allowing for flat vehicle access to the lift and enabling safer movement for vehicles and technicians around the workshop when the lifts are not in use.

12. Cormach's tyre changing and wheel balancing equipment is compact, neat and easy to use, with excellent automation features and a tough design capable of frequent use serving a wide range of passenger car tyre sizes.
