CCS Garage Equipment has recently completed workshop floor refurbishment and paint projects for Northgate Vehicle Hire's Derby depot and Adams Morey's Plymouth site.
Facing constant, heavy-duty use, commercial vehicle workshop flooring and working areas require periodic maintenance to ensure operator clients remain safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Creating a fresh, sleek and safe working environment for team members, workshop floor refurbishment projects by CCS bring busy workshops up to date with a lighter, brighter appearance that communicates professionalism and care.
Northgate Vehicle Hire's Derby depot, centrally located in a thriving commercial area to the north of the city, serves commercial customers in the Derby and Spondon areas, supplying a range of vehicles including transit vans and large, medium and small commercial vans and vehicles, on long term hire to add capacity to logistics and operations.
Over time, the Derby depot's workshop floor had grown tired and was in need of maintenance and repair to bring it up to standard. CCS' workshop installation team worked with the client to plan the flooring refurbishment and repaint program of works, minimising disruption to the client's vehicle hire operations as far as possible and creating a workshop floor layout that complemented and supported the client's operations.
After repair works and diamond-grinding to create a smooth surface, the workshop's floor was repainted using hardwearing epoxy resin floor paint in line with our workshop floor plan, marking out hazards such as the brake tester and vehicle lifts and creating coloured walkways around the perimeter of the workshop for safer navigation around the working space.
1. At the outset of the project, the workshop's floor was tired and worn, showing signs of wear and tear after years of heavy use. Works were initially undertaken to the floor's construction, repairing cracks in the floor slab and creating a level surface.

2. In places, the workshop floor had been worn such that weak spots and gaps in the floor's surface were starting to appear, giving the floor a poor appearance, increasing the likelihood of further deterioration and posing a potential health and safety risk to those walking over the surface.

3. This image highlights the workshop floor surfaces weak spots, showing continued deterioration which are certain to worsen over time and presenting a particular hazard in service bay working areas.
4. What a difference! The workshop floor was diamond-ground to create a smooth and clean surface before epoxy resin floor paint was professionally applied, enhancing appearance, light and safety in Northgate's Derby depot.
5. Reflecting light with a consistent, sleek and eye-catching finish, the workshop's new floor coating instantly brightens the workshop's interior, creating a much more welcoming and enjoyable working environment for Northgate's workshop team in Derby.
6. Here, an anti-slip coating was applied to the vehicle drive-in area leading to the commercial brake tester, aiding navigation and safe workshop operation. Around the brake tester, crisp, unmissable chevrons in epoxy resin draw attention to the working equipment hazard.
7. Professional epoxy resin workshop flooring installation included demarcation of workshop service bays and vehicle lift areas in anti-slip paint and bright colours for easy recognition during workshop operations.
8. The smooth, professionally-finished commercial workshop floor for Northgate Vehicle Hire's Derby depot has transformed this workspace, giving the team a brighter, more inviting and safer space in which to work.
Adams Morey's Plymouth depot is approaching the end of its construction period, replacing the brand's old Saltash depot with a large, spacious facility that gives Adams Morey room to grow its regional operations for Devon and Cornwall in the coming years.
Equipped with industry-leading inspection and service pits, including ATF lanes equipped with load simulation brake testers, accessed via separate staircasing and tunnel entrances and serviced by commercial brake testers, the workshop floor contains fall and trip hazards that required demarcation to ensure the safe movement of people and technicians around the facility once in operation.
Following completion of the commercial workshop garage equipment installation, the floor slab around each hazard was prepared and painted using tough, long-lasting, anti-slip epoxy resin floor paint to indicate trip and fall risks, aiding workplace health and safety compliance in this large new workshop.

1. Professional flooring installation teams marked out the floor areas around each vehicle inspection pit for crisp and clear safety floor paint application of anti-slip paint.

2. All hazards on the workshop floor are professionally marked out in hardwearing, anti-slip epoxy resin floor paint, including staircasing access points, headlamp tester channels and vehicle inspection pits.

3. Commercial brake testers and associated pit access points present working area hazards and fall or trip risks. Adams Morey's fully-equipped commercial vehicle workshop in Plymouth was professionally finished through the application of anti-slip safety floor paint that helps to protect technicians, customers and visitors when working around these pieces of equipment.

4. This 9-bay commercial vehicle workshop contains state-of-the-art garage equipment, supporting the fast, efficient and safe maintenance, servicing and testing of HGVs in the Devon and Cornwall areas. Twin ATF lanes are accessed by staircasing and tunnels, and along with ancillary equiment including load simulation brake testers, have been marked out using hardwearing, anti-slip epoxy resin floor paint for safe workshop operations.

5. Our professionally-installed floor paint and anti-slip safety marking scheme for Adams Morey's Plymouth depot included accurate measurement markings alongside each ATF lane pit for ease of reference during commercial vehicle and HGV testing.

6. With vehicle inspection and servicing pits used continually throughout the day, it's essential to ensure that technicians remain safe whilst at work, and that Adams Morey's business remains compliant with health and safety regulations. Safety paint markings, applied using anti-slip paint, clearly indicate fall and trip hazards, helping to prevent accidents around operational equipment.

7. Adams Morey's Plymouth depot is an excellent facility, supporting commercial vehicle operator customers throughout the South West. Equipped with 9 service bays, including 3 service and inspection pits and twin ATF lanes, the workshop floor has been prepared and professionally marked out to ensure this busy workshop operates efficiently without lost time as a result of accidents.

8. Each ATF lane is equipped with hydraulic pit jacks by leading, reliable manufacturers. This working area is designed and planned to prevent workplace accidents through the professional application of anti-slip safety floor paint for efficient, uninterrupted working.
