CCS has recently completed and tested its garage equipment installation for South Western Ambulance Service, in readiness for handover to our emergency services client.
South Western Ambulance Service provides essential ambulance services across a vast 10,000 square mile-area of England, including Somerset, Gloucestershire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire and the Isles of Scilly.
Serving a population of more than 5.5m, and as a popular tourist destination which attracts more than 23m visitors every year, the South Western Ambulance Service region covers both rural and urban centres with operations which comprise 92 ambulance stations, 2 Emergency Operations Centres and 2 Hazardous Area Response Teams.
This emergency services client operates a large specialist front-line vehicle fleet, ranging from cars to light commercial vehicles, each of which demands maintenance to the highest standards to deliver consistently high operational service levels throughout this increasingly demanding region.
South Western Ambulance Service recently instigated a complete review and reshaping of its emergency services vehicle maintenance operations which sees the closure of some existing workshops and depots, and the consolidation of operations into a suite of new ambulance stations across Wiltshire.
Housed in a combination of existing and new build industrial units, sites comprise training, stores and workshop facilities, as well as office premises for training and administrative work.
CCS Garage Equipment was appointed by our emergency services client to complete the garage equipment installation at the ambulance services' new Chippenham depot, which commenced with consultancy to create a scheme that would allow the ambulance service to operate safely, efficiently and with excellent capacity for growth as demand dictates.
Garage equipment installation projects by CCS Garage Equipment are fully-managed from the outset, working collaboratively with architects, builders, engineers and clients to understand the unique needs of your workshop before creating bespoke garage equipment designs that deliver complete, state-of-the-art workshops with a quality-assured finish.
All equipment is now in place, with our client's other appointed contractors completing their installations prior to testing and commission.
As with every CCS Garage Equipment installation project, our dedicated project manager handled the smooth running of our work on site, liaising with the ambulance service, its contractors and consultants to deliver this sizeable garage equipment installation project on time and in line with the planned scheme.
Our team will professionally support the hand over of the project to our client's emergency services vehicle maintenance team, offering training to personnel which will enable them to operate equipment safely and get the most out of its new workshop investment.
